To help consumers make informed decisions about which toys are the best and most fun, DadDoes.Com, a leading toy review blog, has just released their guide to the best toys of 2012.

While there are numerous – “Best Toys of 2012 Guides” available on the internet, most of them are not based on real world toy testing. Often lists of the top toys for 2012 are compiled by seeing quick product demos are reading press releases. Dad Does believes that the only way to do an accurate list of the top toys is to get the toys, have families play with the toys, then honestly report back on how kids like playing with the toys.

“There are a number of great new toys out for the 2012 holiday season, but there are also some toys that will leave you scratching your head and wondering why you just wasted your money on another dust collector. Our goal with our 2012 Top Holiday Toy Guide is to let parents know which toys are the winners and which ones should be avoided” states Dan Nessel of DadDoes.Com .

To make the Holiday Toy Guide more easy to navigate, Dad Does has split the guide into a number of sections. Here are the parts to the Top Holiday Toy Guide –

(EMAILWIRE.COM, November 16, 2012 )
New York, NY -- For individuals in the market for a new insurance policy, 4AutoInsurancQuote.com has developed a software that makes it possible to obtain one without a credit check.

In this day and age, credit scores are everything, and for millions of people across the nation, poor credit scores have negatively affected their ability to keep or receive an auto insurance quote. Insurance companies use credit scores as an indication of financial stability and credibility in order to lessen the risk level for themselves. As a result, those with lower than acceptable credit scores—600 and below—have often been subject to raised premiums, cancelled insurance policies, or even refusal to be insured.

“To make sure your credit score will [not] negatively affect your auto insurance costs, you should obtain a copy of your credit report,” advises an article on 4AutoInsuranceQuote.com.

In an effort to help more clients find an auto insurance policy that will suit their needs, 4AutoInsuranceQuote.com has developed a new way to assist them without the use of a credit score. To start, all clients need to do is full out the quote form located at the top of the website. From there, 4AutoInsuranceQuotes.com will help the user compare quotes from different companies using their zip code and any information provided about the vehicle they are interested in insuring.

Due to 4AutoInsuranceQuote.com’s privacy policies, website visitors are not required to input their social security numbers in order to calculate an auto insurance quote. More information can be found on 4AutoInsuranceQuote.com’s official page, viewable at http://www.4autoinsurancequote.com/learning-center/no-credit-check-auto-insurance/.

4AutoInsuranceQuote.com reminds readers that the United States entitles all citizens to receive one copy of their credit report each year, so individuals should take advantage of that opportunity. Many companies will also run free credit checks upon request. As another option, individuals can always obtain information directly from one of the three major U.S. credit rating agencies, Transunion, Equifax, and Experian.

Readers with any additional questions are encouraged to post them on 4AutoInsuranceQuote.com’s web forum or contact the company via email.

Study finds Car Rental Prices Double with Common Extras reports Rent A CarIn

$

(EMAILWIRE.COM, November 18, 2012 ) San Francisco, CA -- Family vacations with a hired car can get expensive fast, a new piece of research conducted by Post Office Travel Money has found. Seven-of-ten destinations sampled showed that car rental prices could more than double, after account for extras, when compared to a basic one week rental.

The Post Office Travel Money study found that 66% of families that hired a car while traveling abroad indeed did pay for extras above-and-beyond basics rental charges. The research concluded that the two most common ‘extras’ purchased were the ability to add a second driver and excess waiver insurance, or EWI.

The study also found that the most affordable car rentals on the planet were available in Alicane, Spain, at around £94 for a basic hire, edging out the traditionally driver-friendly United States by about £30. When extras were added, however, the steering wheel quickly turned: with EWI and and an extra driver, the US became the cheapest car hire service running, at £177, while Alicante rentals climbed to above £215. The difference is partially accounted-for by the fact that EWI is included without charge in US car rentals.

A trip in Rome or Pisa, the most expensive destination polled, rocketed from £97 for a basic hire to £287 with EWI and an additional driver. According the to the study, the only European destinations where prices did not double after extras were added were Greece and France.

While frugal travelers might try to avoid some of these extras to keep costs down, getting into an accident without EWI could cost some serious money. Average excess payable costs were lowest in Corfu, £555, found an average across much of Spain at £620 and peaked in Faro, Portugal, at £950.

The Head of Travel Money, Andrew Brown, said that many holiday planners are tempted to advertise low basic costs to get customers through the door, but that actual costs, included EWI can be investigated simply by calling the rental agency directly.

U.S. Auto Sales to China Surge In October reports CarInsurance90

$

0
(EMAILWIRE.COM, November 18, 2012 ) San Francisco, CA -- In October, American carmakers reported record-high monthly sales to China, benefiting from Chinese hard feelings towards Japan sparked by the flare-up of a long-running territorial dispute.

Since the late 19th century, China and Japan have clashed over a small group of rocky islands southwest of Okinawa in the East China Sea. China calls them the Diaoyu Islands, while Japan calls them the Senkaku Islands.

In September, protesters in China attacked Japanese auto dealers and some Japanese-brand cars. As the dispute continues, American car makers are enjoying record-level sales in China at the expense of their Japanese rivals. An official with a Chinese auto dealers association predicted the dispute between China and Japan over the islands would not stop Chinese customers from buying autos, but would “turn their focus from Japanese branded cars to other vehicles."

In October, General Motors Corporation and its joint ventures in China saw sales soar 14.3%. That outpaced the already healthy 11% growth, to $420 million, in GM sales to China and joint venture equity income during the first nine months of this year.

GM sold a record 251,812 vehicles in China during October, with its joint ventures accounting for 117,611 vehicles. The upsurge brought total China sales by GM and its partners to 2.33 million vehicles in the first 10 months of this year, a 10.5% year-to-year increase and an all-time record.

Ford’s October sales to China also enjoyed a hefty 48% increase over last October, moving 60,518 vehicles. Ford and its Chinese partner announced October was their second straight month of record-high sales. For the first 10 months of 2012, total sales by Ford and its Chinese joint venture hit 221,000 vehicles, a 14% gain over the same period last year. Ford said its Focus model sold a record 33,614 units in China in October, another monthly record.

Toyota Motor Corp. reported its sales in China declined again in October, falling 44% from last October and delivering just 45,600 vehicles. The previous month, sales fell 48.9%. For the first 10 months of the year, sales of Toyota vehicles in China were off 15%, at 685,900 vehicles. Even so, the company said, its booming sales of the Prius hybrid in Japan and the United States would more than offset lost sales in China. Toyota also raised its estimate for 2012 full-year profits by more than 2.6%.

Toyota has announced it will pay for repairs not covered by insurance on its cars damaged during Chinese protests over the Diaoyu Islands dispute, and give owners who want to trade in damaged vehicles a $3,200 allowance. Honda similarly offered repairs and free loaner vehicles to owners of its cars damaged during the demonstrations.

Suzuki to Stop Producing American Autos, File Chapter 11 Bankruptcy reports Cheap Auto Insurance Center

(EMAILWIRE.COM, November 18, 2012 ) San Francisco, CA -- Plagued by low sales, fierce competition, and poor foreign exchange rates, American Suzuki Motor Corp. plans to cease its United States auto operations and file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

In a released statement, the company said it would continue its marine engine and motorcycle divisions. It stated it will also continue to honor warranties and provide parts and service through its parts and service dealer network.

The statement indicated Japanese parent company Suzuki Motor Corp. will not file for bankruptcy.

The company pointed to high costs, tight regulations, foreign exchange rates, and low U.S. auto sales as primary reasons for the decision.

Although U.S. auto sales were up 14% total through October, they were down 5% during the same period of time for Suzuki.

"While the decision to discontinue new automobile sales in the U.S. was difficult to make, today's actions were inevitable under these circumstances," read the company statement.

The corporation plans to stay in close touch with its 246 U.S. auto dealers in coming days. Its statement indicated it “intends to work within its current U.S. automotive dealer network to help structure a smooth transition from new automobile sales to exclusively parts and service operations, or, in some instances, an orderly wind-down of dealership operations.”

Suzuki began selling automobiles in the U.S. in 1985. Its most well-known models are the Samurai compact SUV and the Swift compact car.

Analysts said Suzuki’s move was to be expected.

“I don't think it's a big surprise given their lackluster sales performance of recent years,” said Jessica Caldwell, an analyst with auto information company Edmunds.com. “They have have low margin, low-priced cars with small volume. That's far from the ideal combination. Over the long term it's hard to sustain a brand on such little volume when you don't have a healthy margin like exotic or specialty brands.”

Consumers Found Generally Satisfied with Auto Insurance Settlements reports Best Car Insurance Web

$

(EMAILWIRE.COM, November 18, 2012 ) San Francisco, CA -- A recent study offers statistical evidence consumers now think auto insurers are doing a better, fairer job. The J.D. Power and Associates 2012 U.S. Auto Claims Satisfaction Study has found people filing insurance claims are more satisfied with the settlements they receive. The most important factor behind increased consumer satisfaction was a greater perception that settlements were fair.

The J.D. Power study looks at six component factors for its overall satisfaction index. These are: when the claim was first noticed, interactions with service staff, claim appraisal, repairs, rentals, and the ultimate settlement. It drew on responses from over 12,500 car insurance customers who had settled an auto damage claim within the past half-year. The data was collected between November 2011 and September 2012. Not included were claims for glass or windshield damage only, for stolen vehicles, or for roadside assistance only.

For the fifth straight year, the top-ranked firm for overall satisfaction was Auto-Owners Insurance; it drew a score of 887 out of a possible on 1,000 points. Next came Amica Mutual and Erie Insurance, tied with 876 each. There was another tie for fourth place, between the AAA-affiliated Automobile Club of Southern California and COUNTRY, with 874 points apiece.

Among all respondents, there was a six-point average gain in overall satisfaction score, rising to 852 points, and a nine-point improvement in the average score for the settlement factor, up to 846. In fact, this year’s index showed gains in five of its six components.

The study noted a major improvement by insurers this year in offering a range of options by which claimants can keep abreast of progress on their claim. This year, 64% of those surveyed said they had been offered options for tracking the claim, up from 61% in last year’s survey.

Failure to communicate and keep claimants informed can lead them to doubt the fairness of the settlement offer, and may protract or complicate negotiations, hurting overall satisfaction rates. In fact, the most significant factor for claimants in determining their overall satisfaction with a settlement was their perceptions of the offer’s fairness.

Respondents whose vehicles had been totaled had a 16% increase in their settlements. The average settlement for totaled vehicles climbed by almost $690 this year, prodded upward by rising values for used cars and trucks during large parts of this year.

The study also noted that satisfaction with settlements has increased overall, even though claimants on average spent more in the process. Average out-of-pocket costs for a claimant, including deductibles and other expenses, such as outlays for repairs or rental vehicles, rose to $403, a $26 increase over last year.

Crime Reports Find No Longer is Locking your Car Enough reports Lock Smith SanAntonio

$

(EMAILWIRE.COM, November 18, 2012 ) San Antonio,TX -- New technology found on the Internet can help car thieves steal some of the most expensive and safe cars in the world. This new technology is in the form of a device that can unlock a car from outside, and once inside, another easily accessible device can start the car by accessing its computer system and reprogramming a blank key within no time. All with no evidence of a car theft. Traditional locking of your car is now obsolete.

Police say that over 1,000 cars have been stolen in London using this method within the past year. They say that they only became aware of the new technique after there were a string of inexplicable car thefts of cars that were seemingly impenetrable. Cars that were stolen included those with keyless entry systems as well as “push to start” buttons.

The epidemic is under investigation by the police and car manufacturers are looking into how they can make their cars safer. The manufacturers however, have not said which specific models are easier targets in order to keep potential thieves guessing.

A lot of the thefts thus far have been of BMW models manufactured from 2007 to 2001, however, police have surmised that this may simply be because they are such nice cars.

Due to the fact that keyless entry systems have become so common, the opportunity pool for thieves has risen tremendously.

The new device that thieves are using has been termed the “jammer” and allows users to get into a car and start it without even breaking a window. The “jammer” is reportedly made in China and retails for around £50 and works by blocking the electronic signal sent by the owner’s key to lock the car. A potential thief can stand near the car as the owner attempts to lock it and the jammer will block the signal, which keeps the car unlocked. The thieves can then use the other device to break into the computer system and drive off as if nothing happened.

The jammer is sold legally in the UK in order for locksmiths to do their job, but the technology has been taken advantage of by those looking for a free car.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Hooper, from the Association of Chief Police Officers, said: “Ten years ago you would see a car thief with a jemmy or a slide hammer to pop the window. Now you are more likely to see them some sort of diagnostic equipment, they are getting very clever.”

In another case, 42-year-old Alan Watkins from Witham, Essex, saw eight years in jail after he was found to be the mastermind of more than 170 luxury cars worth a combined £3.5 million.
Watkins exposed that he and his crew would target garages, mostly in Essex.

In order to correct the safety problems, manufacturers have partnered with an insurance funded research organization called Thatcham. BMW has started giving customers a free software update in order to further deter criminals.

Ian Wallace, from Thatcham, said: “We have been avoiding saying it’s this car or that car to avoid alerting thieves. It could be any car."

Mercedes, Vauxhall, and Nissan said that they were unaware of specific issues, while Jaguar and Land Rover manufacturers claimed that their systems could not be reprogrammed in this way.

High Car Rental Fees for Travelers to Australia reports Car Hire Nice Airport

$

(EMAILWIRE.COM, November 18, 2012 ) San Francisco, CA -- Those who rent cars know that the extras on a car can be pricey; however, in Australia those prices can be doubled with car rental extras. The number one rule still applies to anyone looking to rent a vehicle: always read the fine print before signing anything.

All travelers are warned to look over hidden rental car fees and extras, which can skyrocket the price they pay in order to use a vehicle. The prices in certain locations nearly doubled when extras were applied, such as insurance and other superfluous extras.

One of the largest fees tends to come from the excess waiver reduction option, which is a type of insurance that lowers the amount one may pay if their car is damaged while in their possession. The bill for an unfortunate accident or incident is lowered by a few hundred dollars in such a scenario.

When it comes to pricing: A week-long rental from Thrifty at Adelaide Airport could seem like a great deal at $200; however, once insurance, the price jumps to nearly $360. That constitutes a 44% increase. While attempting to rent from Avis at Brisbane Airport, a $212 rises to $373 with purchase. That is a 43% rise.

There are other extras that leach from one’s pocketbook. Adding a GPS system costs $11 per day, and a street directory adds another $5 per day. If one has a child in tow, then another six will be added per day.

All of these additions may seem small on their own, but quickly add up in the daily total, which can mean one is spending well over 200% of their original noted cost.

There are also company policy charges, such as Thrifty and Avis, which add $40 in surcharges and administration fees. Those fees are not included in the insurance fees, and are yet another fee to endure.

Consumer advocate worker, Ingrid Just, who works for Choice, stated that travelers must be on the lookout for hidden fees and do their best to assure themselves protection from such fees by being vigilant.

“Advertised prices seem cheap at first but then all the extra costs hidden behind that asterix really add up,” Just said.

She made a point to note that airport rental fees are usually the highest.

“People who are hopping off the plane with loads of bags and screaming kids just want to get going and will choose the more convenient option, likely without reading all the terms and conditions," she said.

“But where possible avoid picking up or dropping off cars at airports – car rental companies charge huge premiums for the convenience.

"We did a survey last year that found there were premium locations surcharges of up 23% at some airports, so you may be paying hundreds of dollars extra.”

Guardian Print Centers Make Strides In Sustainable Energy reports Ink Cartridges Fast

$

(EMAILWIRE.COM, November 18, 2012 ) England, UK -- The Guardian newspaper has reported that its prints have lowered emissions by 9% in the twelve month ending March 2012. The huge decrease can be attributed to many of the GPC’s (Guardian Print Center) new ways of working including lowering water usage in ink in order to cut down on ink usage as a whole.

Guardian Print Center’s have made a real effort to better their company for environmental and sustainability reasons. They have lowered their water usage by 16% and slowed the ink motor speed by 23%, which dropped the damp setting of the print down 14%. Overall, these improvements helped lower black ink usage by 11% and color ink by 6%, which over time makes a huge impact not only for the company itself, but also for the environment.

GPC Manchester operations manager Phil Aitken also reported that with all of the new improvements to the printing process, the images in the prints have become much sharper. The Guardian has also installed “smart meters,” which gives the centers the ability to manage their own energy consumption.

In turn, this allows for the air to stay at a consistent temperature in the rooms, which overtime can save a lot of money and a lot of energy. The GPC’s took their new ways to the next level by putting sensors in the urinals in the Manchester division.

Guardian Print Center’s have made a real effort to lower their emissions in new, creative ways. What they have done has paved the way for other printing companies to follow in their footsteps. They have made waves not only in Manchester, but also throughout England and have started turning heads in other companies who are looking to add sustainability and environmental awareness to their “to do” lists.

If more printing companies, more companies in general could model themselves after Guardian Printing Centers, they may not only save money, but also help the environment become a more sustainable place.

Dealer Bid UK Gives Power To The Car Sellers In Unique Online Platform

$

(EMAILWIRE.COM, November 21, 2012 ) London, London -- Selling a second-hand car can be a difficult and frustrating process these days, with so many options actually driving demand down. Whether to sell on eBay, take what We Buy Any Car offers, or go with the old school newspaper classifieds and hope for the best it’s a difficult decision for car sellers to make. Thankfully, there is a new way, one which puts a degree of power back in the hands of the seller.

Dealer Bid UK has cut out the middle man to connect sellers with dealerships in a way that encourages dealers to bid for their cars. The site asks sellers to fill out a one-time form including the details of the car, then the listing will appear to bidders, who make an offer. This auction format means dealers compete for the cars in stock.

Dealer Bid UK has recently remodelled its website from the ground up due to its accelerating success, offering search speeds for dealers ten times faster than in previous builds, and offering an all-new interface for sellers.

The site has even been recognised by the Daily Telegraph, one of the nation’s leading newspapers, as a means by which for those selling cars to get a better deal than many of the more aggressively marketed online solutions.

A spokesperson for Dealer Bid UK explained the advantages of their system,

“In the UK there are a lot of car buying websites now that will make you an offer to buy your car for cash. These are usually automated offers made by software so nobody actually takes the time to speak to the seller about their car, causing a worst-case-scenario car valuation far lower than necessary, allowing the company in turn to sell the car onto a motor dealer for a quick profit. Our site is different. We don’t buy any cars, our system instead allows sellers to enter their car details and the system immediately sends that information to hundreds of different dealers and car buying companies who make their own individual cash offers. This bidding process increases the chance of a stronger, more accurate price and cuts out the middle man making a profit out of your car. It’s an elegant system, and the refurbishment has made it faster and more intuitive for both sellers and dealers.”

About Dealer Bid UK: Dealer Bid UK has attracted national press attention due to its unique system of connecting sellers with dealers who bid for their cars, promoting better value for the seller and cutting out middle men. For more information, please visit: http://www.dealerbid.co.uk/

Drop in EU Car Insurance Rates Temporary reports CarInsurance90

$
0

(EMAILWIRE.COM, November 21, 2012 ) San Francisco, CA -- Despite a recent 13.6% drop in car insurance rates for young drivers, rates are expected to increase significantly, at least for women, next month.

Those predicting the hike chalk it up to next month’s EU gender ruling.

The insurance comparison website Confused.com urges 17-to-20-year-old drivers to jump on today’s rates.

At the moment, average comprehensive car insurance prices are £757, compared to £843 at the same time last year. That’s a difference of £87, or 10.3%.

Rates fell for all age groups and both genders, particularly young female drivers. However, young female drivers will pay as much as 24% more after the EU gender law goes into effect Dec. 21.

Beginning that day, auto insurers will not be allowed to offer different rates to each gender. That means women will no longer benefit from their tendency, backed by statistics, of being safer drivers in general.

Confused.com Editor Sharon Flaherty said, “at the moment women pay less than men and statistically. This is because on average they are less of a risk on the roads than young male drivers.

"However the bad news is that on Dec. 21 the law change will mean that men and women have to be judged as exactly the same on the roads.

"Women will effectively be charged more because statistically they will no longer be allowed to be rated as safer on the roads."

Experts predict women ages 26 to 30 will pay an 18% increase, while those ages 31 to 35 will pay 10% more, and women ages 36 to 40 will pay 3% more. Those 41 to 45 years old will likely pay 1% more for future auto insurance policies.

Generally, the average cost for married people is less than that for unmarried people. For example, a male driver who is married pays £432, compared to £907 if he were unmarried. Married women currently pay £418.
